Concert brings comfort and joy to town centre

On Thursday December 1, MMF  began the countdown to Christmas at their 8th annual carol concert. The event saw a crowd of around 60 people, many wearing a festive hat, gathering to listen as the Invicta Grammar School choir sang a wide variety of songs, with Miss Hughes accompanying on the piano. There were traditional Christmas carols, such as We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Silent Night, as well as Georgian and Scottish lullabies.

During the break, the crowd were invited into the Museum Friends’ Shop in Fremlin Walk to enjoy refreshments of tea, coffee and mince pies, with well-earned refreshments for the choristers. Despite being cut short due to the unfortunate drizzly weather, the night still proved to be magical and put everyone in the Christmas spirit! The choir was delighted to sing for the audience who included the Mayor of Maidstone Cllr Derek Mortimer and head of school Mrs Beales

After picking the winning raffle tickets, Cllr Mortimer praised the choir for the excellence of their singing and MMF for hosting this event for so many years.
