Young Volunteers Welcome the Archbishop

April 2024

MMF-supported Youth Ambassadors and Cur8 volunteers gave a warm welcome to the Archbishop of Canterbury when he visited Maidstone Museum

The Most Rev Justin Welby spent more than an hour in the museum, viewing the 12th century Lambeth Bible and other Medieval artefacts. Former MMF Youth Ambassadors Izzy and Iza told him about the scheme that over the years has seen many young people promote the Museum, use its services and volunteer.

The Archbishop chatted to Cur8 volunteers who do so much to help the museum and enhance their own experience. MMF provides financial support for the Cur8 scheme. During his visit, the Archbishop blessed the new Lives in our Landscape gallery – supported by a major MMF fund-raising effort – ahead of its official opening in June.
