The first Talk of the year was held at our new main venue at Maidstone Community Support Centre in Marsham Street.
Our speaker was Daren Russell from Step into the Past, who gave a most engaging talk with fantastic slide visuals on many different aspects of Maidstone’s 1,000 year history.
As Daren said:
“All around Kent, history radiates kings in castles and clergy in cathedrals but in Maidstone, the history is different – it’s the story of the average hardworking commoner”.
