IT’S CHRISTMAS!

On Saturday 4th December there will be a ‘Christmas Market’ at the Museum in St. Faith’s Street.
It runs, that day, from 10am to 3pm. FREE ADMISSION.

Bill’s Take on Maidstone

An Elmer at the Pop-Up Shop

We are fortunate to take possession of a delightful Elmer Elephant in the Pop-Up shop – decorated in a style known as Nettipattam (used to adorn elephants in the Indian State of Kerla).

You may remember that 50 of these delightful creatures were distributed all over town

Successful 2021 AGM Held

After the vitual AGM last year (through Zoom), it was very good to all meet again and allow proper debate to flow.
Mark Baker, the Chairman, expanded on a difficult year for MMF operation, but there was focus on the opening and functioning of the Pop-Up shop in Fremlin Walk.

A Talk by Bill Stotesbury

On Thursday 4th November Friends receive a fascinating presentation.

Bill Stotesbury, a local artist and designer will talk about:
“Charting Maidstone’s Story – the Making of the Maidstone Wallchart”

We have an enlarged version of the wallchart on display in the pop-up shop, and many visitors have admired how informative it is about
their town.

AGM & Sam Harris Talk

MMF is to hold the AGM on Thursday 7th October in the Pop-Up shop. This will be followed by a talk from Sam Harrioa, of the Museum. Start at 6pm with the doors open at 5.30pm.
