Student Access to Museum

April 2023

The Museum is to be used every Friday for extended student access.

The Museum received 70 responses to the survey it undertook last month, into the demand from young people for this facility. The majority of these were very supportive.
As a result, the Museum will trial a project for three terms offering the library for homework.

Music to make Kentish Hearts Sing

Just a few words from a song written by Kentish folk stalwart Bob Kenward who performed it with John and Di Cullen at the MMF’s second annual folk concert in the Museum Friends’ Shop on April 6.

Aviation Preservation Talk

On Thursday 4th May we welcome Robin Heaps, Secretary at Medway Aircraft Preservation Society Ltd (MAPSL).
His talk – Aviation Preservation at Medway – will provide a brief overview of the work of MAPSL in restoring and preserving historic aircraft and artefacts and the operation of the company.

Saintly Talk

To commence MMF’s talk programme for the year we welcomed back Dr James Lloyd to consider the life and legend of Saint Eanswith of Folkestone. Dr Lloyd, Archivist at the Royal College of Arms, had been with us in February 2022 when he considered “The Forgotten Symbols of Kent”
