A Design Challenge for Kent Schools. MMF – in partnership with Maidstone Museums – launches a competition aimed at Primary & Secondary Schools and pupils,

The challenge will require students, working as individuals or in a team, taking inspiration from objects in the Museum and developing a prototype product that could be sold in the Museum shop for £10 or less.

Lost Symbols Talk

There was a packed audience of nearly 40 for the latest in the MMF series of monthly events in the Friends’ shop in Fremlin Walk. After refreshments, In a talk entitled “The Forgotten Symbols of Kent”, James Lloyd, M.A. Ph.D M.Litt, Archivist of the College of Arms, gave a detailed historic analysis of the many and varied heraldic styles that have represented Kent since Saxon times.

Santa Draws the Winner

A splendid time was enjoyed by over 650 people attending the Museum Market on Saturday 4th December. There were about 25 craft stalls offering – jewels to candles, freshly baked food to Christmas cards, bird boxes to fudge –
the range of goodies was endless.
