The list of exciting events for the first 6 months of next year is announced.

The events offer a variety of topics – so we can expect talks covering Aylesford to Japan, Egypt to the Symbols of Kent. Insight is provided into how the rooms of houses developed, and there is a folk evening.

Start your Christmas celebrations at the Friends’ Pop-up Shop in Fremlin Walk!!
Although we could not hold this annual event last year because of Covid, we are delighted to
welcome back the brilliant Invicta Grammar School Choir, who will be performing a feast of festive music.

Fun, Fun, Fun. ’Tis the season to be jolly.

On Saturday 4th December there will be a ‘Christmas Market’ at the Museum in St. Faith’s Street.
It runs, that day, from 10am to 3pm. FREE ADMISSION.

On Thursday 4th November Friends were treated to an excellent talk by Bill Stotesbury about the research undertaken to produce the Maidstone Wall Chart.
But, he started with a resumé of his fascinating life as a painter and designer – from his college days through to working for big companies in London.

We are fortunate to take possession of a delightful Elmer Elephant in the Pop-Up shop – decorated in a style known as Nettipattam (used to adorn elephants in the Indian State of Kerla).

You may remember that 50 of these delightful creatures were distributed all over town

After the vitual AGM last year (through Zoom), it was very good to all meet again and allow proper debate to flow.
Mark Baker, the Chairman, expanded on a difficult year for MMF operation, but there was focus on the opening and functioning of the Pop-Up shop in Fremlin Walk.
